Marylou Wakefield is a freelance writer and strategic communications specialist who believes stories have the power to change lives. For more than 20 years, she has written for business and consumer publications about public relations, health care, the arts and environmental issues. Most recently, she wrote articles for yachting magazines and online news sites in the UK, US and Canada.

Marylou manages a website http://kimchowaroundtheworld.com that chronicles the voyage of single handed sailor Glenn Wakefield, who sailed solo for 22,500 nautical miles over 218 days in an attempt to be the first person from North America to complete a single-handed, non-stop circumnavigation west about.
Marylou is currently writing a creative non-fiction book and participating with Glenn in a number of public presentations about their journey.
