About UsThe Canadian Public Relations Society-Vancouver Island (CPRS-VI) represents a vibrant and growing community of public relations professionals located in Victoria and the Island. Our membership comprises active national members, retired practitioners, students, as well as associate members whose professional or volunteer employment relates to the field of public relations. CPRS-VI is a volunteer society led by an elected Board of Directors.
Our local membership includes public relations consultants and practitioners in government, private industry, health, retail, arts, not-for-profit and tourism. We support our members through a variety of activities including providing assistance for members who want to achieve the respected professional APR designation. We host a series of networking events and professional development opportunities from September through May of each year. CPRS-VI is part of a Canadian network of societies representing public relations practitioners who are committed to ethical practice by maintaining the spirit and ideals of a code of conduct, and who consider these essential to the practice of public relations. Part of the value of national membership in CPRS is the very real benefits that come from networking, at local and national events, from our growing national awards program, the respected accreditation process, our resource library, the College of Fellows program, and access to a member only section of our local and national websites. CPRS is a member of the Global Alliance, an organization created to promote and represent national associations for public relations and communications. Over 60 countries are Global Alliance members including Canada, Great Britain, South Africa, the United States, India and New Zealand. Please visit CPRS to learn more about the associated benefits to our members. The members-only section of this website features CPRS-VI newsletters, library and online resources, bursary applications, and it contains the society's constitution and bylaws and board information. If you have questions about CPRS-VI, please send us an e-mail or contact any member of the Board of Directors. |
