Our History
CPRS-VI has a rich history of which our members can be proud - a story that continues to be written today.
The first formal action to establish the Public Relations Society of British Columbia took place in March 1955, when nine senior members of the public relations fraternity in Vancouver assembled to begin discussions.
On October 25, 1956, after several meetings and consultation with Victoria practitioners, a motion was unanimously approved to join CPRS. The British Columbia Society became CPRS Vancouver in 1997.
In Victoria on November 4, 1982 CPRS Vancouver Island joined as a local society.
