About our special presentation:
Every Voice Matters – Building a New Engagement Framework with Input from Coastal Communities with Amy Bronee, BC Ferries Director of Community Relations
In November of 2024, BC Ferries announced its 13 ferry advisory committees would be replaced with a new engagement system in 2025 to better address the evolving needs of growing coastal communities. From January to March, BC Ferries sought input from diverse groups to help inform the development of its new public engagement framework.
Amy Bronee will speak to what led up to this initiative, the response from communities and interest holders, tales from a multi-week ferry tour, the in-depth research and communications work to date, evaluation metrics, and what happens next.
About our speaker:
Amy is the Director of Community Relations at BC Ferries. Her professional background includes roles in public engagement, communications, and media relations at the provincial and municipal levels. She has worked on public engagement projects as local as designing a new neighbourhood playground to as large as the provincial referendum on electoral reform, cannabis regulation, and the re-establishment of the human rights commission in British Columbia. Amy also has a background in broadcasting, including TV and radio news. Outside of work, Amy loves cooking, podcasts, movies, a weekly dance class, and helping her two teenage sons chase their big dreams.
