The Strategic Communications Advisor reports to the Assistant Director, Plan Communications in the Plan Communications Branch and provides leadership, direction, advice and facilitation on education, outreach and advocacy strategies, public relations, and
media and issues management. The position works closely with Pension Corporation executive, senior management, staff, corporate and plan boards of trustees, executive directors and secretariat on high profile and highly sensitive issues. This position is
responsible for developing and implementing proactive strategic communications plans and cultivates relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Key functional responsibilities include: communications counsel; communications planning and support; media relations; issues identification and management; professional writing services including the preparation of presentations and speeches; coordination of information requests management, managing contracted services. The position is responsible for integrating these components into a responsive, efficient and effective communications framework and infrastructure capable of responding to the Pension Corporation’s needs.
