CPRS-VI AGM Report and Event

Join us at the Canadian Public Relations Society of Vancouver Island's Annual General Meeting!


We hope you can join us on Tuesday, June 4 · 6:30 - 8:30pm PDT for the in-person event at Viatec in Victoria for refreshments, great food, and connections with our communications community. We are also hosting a Zoom room during the event so more people can connect with us and learn from our guest speaker. Learn more and sign up on Eventbrite.


Although this is an AGM, everyone is welcome to attend! The in-person event is free for CPRS members and $15 for non-members. The online event is free for everyone to attend.

We will start with some chapter business - including announcing new members of the Board of Directors, and then we will quickly move to our special presentation (details below).

About our special presentation:

Breaking Barriers - Stories from a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Facilitator with Darcy Irwin

Darcy’s presentation will delve into the evolution of his career within the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) field, covering the diverse areas he’s explored, the individuals he’s encountered, and the valuable lessons he’s learned along the way.

Diversity - Embrace it. Share it. Celebrate it.


About our speaker:

Darcy Irwin (he/him) is passionate about creating leadership that empowers, educates, and creates transformational change within organizations. His collaborative approach and background in psychology and neuro-linguistic programming enables others to improve performance, personal development, and communication.

Darcy started the DEI Consulting firm Constructing Connection in 2020. He has worked with many national and international organizations: reviewing policies, designing training curriculums, providing organizational DEI audits, and collaborating with others to provide presentations on numerous DEI topics.

Darcy is currently Head Coach of Canada’s National Down Syndrome Swim Team. His coaching style has been considered inspirational, purpose-driven and influential. His creative initiatives to support funding for the team have been recognized nationally.
